一枝独秀
The cord stirs deep, sending a ripple down to the very core. She awaken and realised a mistake was sown and the bitter fruit had to be devour, much to her dismay. First thing first, to remove the trouble maker. Probably paint a name to his reputation is the best way to get rid of competition. Competition for nutrients in the Earth, the soil that it holds so dear. With the competitor out of the picture, probably all will revert to the olden days.

Being single
No. this aint an open invite so dun fire ur mail! The weather has been acting kinda strange for the past weeks. Today the sun was shining brilliant in the provia blue sky, the morrow it was pouring. Probably this lesser whistling was taking shade from the blazing sun on this cloudless day. Not a single cotton cloud in the sky!

Purple Haven
Wonders are forever. Diamonds are not.
Just realised something sweet: that a 2x is forever in my bag but on those occassions when Jeff needs to use it, it performs amazingly well. Not that he will use it often. Not for a nesting ground when composition triumphs over isolation. So dun be too tempted to dive into a narrow DOF next time round cause perspective control can be very important in bringing out the right mood in the image.

Perseverance
And I'll keep my #1. Yes and he got just what he wished for. Of course nothing in this world is for free. In return he poured in his strength and most valued perseverance. Going the extra mile just for himself and no one else.
This time round, Jeff got smarter and took shade under a tree while trying to capture some essence of the game. Probably this is the more presentible few.
And Jeff got a nasty surprise moments ago. The focusing screen just popped out while i was changing lens and landed on the tiled floor. Whilst there isn't any visible damage to the surface, there is a prominent stain smack in the center of the screen. There goes another 20 bucks for replacement and to tighten the locking mechanisn. The notion of it dislodging during field trip is unthinkable! Wonder what's next. And I miss my wendy!!!
As of writing, Jeff just has the impulse to spring down to the nearest store and get one. Fortunately, they are closed else another hole in the pocket. A.man.
another spur of the moment. That's very much like Jeff.

Avians and Nature
A departing purple heron and a perching milky stork. Contrasting actions and bubble-like leaves complete the image. She weaved her magic again. Or did Jeff create what he wanted to see?
Still recall with great clarity moments before this image was made at another location. The spot where these feathered creatures have chosen to propagate is nothing but infested with homosapiens, smack in the centre of a popular tourist attraction. The good news is due to the extreme elevation, most would give it a miss but for one who trot around with a super on his back uncamouflaged, it's unwelcomed attention.
It all began with the lady asking if she could peer through my viewfinder and of course the kindly Jeff obliged. The next moment almost had my weak heart leaped out of my tiny rib cage: she attempted to tilt the perfecty locked system to suit her perspective with the help of another! Jeff almost fainted on the spot. The good news was Jeff was able to swallow the freight and regained total control to contain damage. Just what were those folks thinking? My mind was racing like: what the hell were you thinking? Didn't you learn lever's rule in high school?!
Seems Jeff has yet to learn from his previous lesson: to keep the she out of the equation on his field trips. No exceptions. Simply no sense of dimension. Absolutely ZERO!

The name's purple
It was after midnoon dragon boat shoot when Jeff made his way to Mandai for the Heron nesting ground. On his way home, a storky brownish purple stick caught his eyes and immediately Jeff beamed himself out of the ride. Tis a Purple Heron fishing for dinner in the evening sun. The joy of avian photography is to watch them in their natural environment, unmolested and enjoy the frame filling elation of the avian bathing in perfect lighting. Beyond words.
While Jeff loves the wide perspective offered by the 5D, he misses his wendy badly, especially when he does sports and wildlife. The AF is just not there...curse of the Ds......... Yet for low light, landscape and street portraitures, the 5D triumphs.

Parking
Forgotton by its owner and left to rust. Just how many furry cuties are left on the shelves after the wanabie period has passed? One only treasures the lost. Interestingly, my 5D has begun to exhibit a character of its own and become quite adorable with use. The draw lies with the visage it affords, even more desirable than the 1D. While it lacks the fps of its bigger brother, it commands the ability to isolate a subject in a frame with darkening corners like no other wih its feather weight body.

Return of Spidey
In all its glory. The crimson manifested for a split second before being chased away by the resident male plain-throated sunbird. As agressive as before. In fact, I dun see a second feather around long enough to give the shutter a workout. The entire ginger garden has been monopolised by the plain pirates duo!
While the details resolved by the 500 is impressive, Jeff misses the closing focusing ability of his 300. The BG control is just not there. The use of extension tube (36mm) gobbles up about 1/2 stop of light so use with care. Nevertheless, spidey and gang made my day. Back to the good old times of laboratory rat! Tis Jeff san.

Man and Bench
The sun was blazing but the weather was cool. And of course the UV radiation was merciless. All its citizens were emblazoned a charcoal brown. Dark broken veins were visible even on the cheeks of new born. Welcome to another side of the globe.
Strangely, Jeff has developed a penchant for portraits. Just what is the attraction of this form of art?

Tattoo
With tender loving care, the man made an imprint of a rose on her hand.
>>Finally, after spending 2 years with e 300mm, I have a new birding toy! Though I m not sure how often it will get to see the daylight, the meer sight of it makes my elongated heart aflutter. Probably this heart of mine wont last long if the patterns (seizure) persist. The new toy feels a bit alien and awkward, probably need a few weeks of familiarisation. Initial impression of additional 1kg has turned into quite some weight for my tiny wrist. I see another torn ligament in the future. And another grand toward tripod investment. Well at least the urge has been quenched, for now. Now only to create. :D
