Spring

off colors

All my previous efforts of printer calibration just goes pop! and the ancient printer goes on strike. Probably time to welcome a new large format member into the family with a new year. Probably Jeff should be saying yes to his customers who are keen on purchasing his works.
PS. Another pair of teddy adopted from a Vietnam trip. It has the word Indigo on its back.

Monkey business

The caretaker tossed a few oranges for some late afternoon "tea break" and these furballs just couldn't contain their excitement and tried to break open their christmas gifts by thumping these fruits against the logs. One of them, it appearred, had the gift of the intellect. Rather than hitting the orange against the log in an attempt to break open the acidic skin to reach the juicy content, it began to peel the orange (!), while its little furball was nearby. At the end of the orange peeling tutorial, the primate gave one-half of the fruit to the juvenile. Interestingly, the little one did not quite buy the idea of peeling and decided to rub the orange against the log. The juiced that oozed from the fruit soaked up the surface of the log. The little furball then used its tongue to finish the job.
P.S. My dragonball.

Black & White

Finally Jeff decided that his work should be tidied and compiled into a book for his own pleasure. Binding comes into his mind and bind it should be.

Strange affair

Moments ago, this man was squatting in a shadowy corner in side the building enjoying a cig. Next moment he's chatting by the door way on a mobile phone, oblivious to my presence. Probably the conversation was more interesting than a mere street soul just passing by. Nay he was caught in a heavy downpour, taking shade under a shophouse. Moments later, this passerby with a camera sat by a wooden bench (as if carved into the wall) and began clicking away his shutter at every soul that crossed his path.

Just moments...

Au natural

All will come to pass. The interesting behavior of homosapiens is these mammals are predictable and can easily be fitted into models. Similarly for avian creatures, patience can really pay off. Not about freezing the moment in time. Rather to take time to relish the moment. Probably in the span of a few seconds to a couple of minutes. Most time is spent waiting for that fleeting moment. Just a moment, comes and goes. Nothing lasts but wthin a finite lifetime, there is light.
Jeff has drawn the line and made his stance very clear. Once his revolution passes, he will move on.
P.S. Jeff has always been intrigued by the multitide of fanciful gismo on the market when the PR will adorn plenty of hype into a simple looking but purportedly sophisticated piece of device. Amongst these is a new kid on the block that enables one to peek into the sensor and clean the area of interest. How convenient! At around 200 US per piece, its white sucker time.

Defocus

Sometimes one is too entrench in his comfort zone that he forgets to look outside the boundary. As time passes, he becomes self content and turn into a frog in his little well. Probably when he tries to peer outside this little well would he understand the word a larger picture mean.
But probably he would have to sacrifice certain things in return for this vision. Today, Jeff understands that there is nothing more left for him but to move on.
If defocus and self indulgence is what brought down an empire, Jeff just witnessed the end taking shape in front of him. Lest is none of his concern.

Grandma and umbrella

Poor Jeff attempted to remove a tiny hair in the viewfinder but ended up introducing more impurities. He had to give up before the whole thing breaks apart. Everything appears just too feeble to the touch... thinking that it costs 4.4K!

Soon, Jeff will begin another phase of travelling log. Next destination, Bali, Indonesia.

At peace

Beyond words...
The "house of the flying daggers" almost moved me to tears. The beauty of nature's wonder was beyond words. Yet this not the environment but the soul of the producer that has touched a cord in Jeff. It resonates deep.
Yet, this man, in his twilight years, sitting a slumbering on a folding chair, ignites more than a single word of "passion". This feeling is indescript. Never had it for a long time. Along with Zhang Yimuo's work combined to form a very potent dose of emotions that flooded my sensories.
A sudden wave of melancholy overwhelmed me. I sheded a tear.

Just rough

Trees have always been a nature marker. They tell u stories in the wind, in the soil and in the air that we breath. If its sick, its bark presents tell-tale signs that its not doing well. For a healthy trunk, it sings a ringing hymm. Can u hear it in the wind? The texture, the colors and the contours are a lethal potent concoction of perfume that will assail ur senses. But only one sees though one's heart.

It's a knockout for Jeff.

Golden age

It's probably been there before my time. Like this tree, Jeff is stretching his tenticles to the edge of the world. Soon all shall see through his eyes.
The treasure lies not in its rarity but its simplicity.

Flowering weed

Even an apparently useless weed has its function. The good and the bad in an admixture. Without one party to adorn another, just how could one tell black from white.

Art in Nature

On this overcast day with a threatening thunder-head in the background, everything was against me, even the light. However, shooting at metered reading has its rewards and I captured her magic in that instant.

Blues and crimson

With a heart so light, so clear. Another beautiful sunset.
To make my day, an sms hailed an invite to submit some images from my archives for exhibition selection on 30th Dec. The wind of change... :)

Contrasts

There's light in darkness

Poor unfortunate souls

One must ask the incongruity between a title and two innocent souls in the image. Here, two young ladies were entranced in their delicious ice-cream one late evening. Light was very subdued. The title reflects my connection to both the simplicity and complexity of living and working life.
A new Empress Dowager on the block who takes delight in absolute power. A Cixi in reminescent. Zhang ziyi was slained by her most beloved in "The Banquet". What would her her ending? Tis not too difficult to decipher.
Or is it poor unfortunate soul? One who is bounded by her fetish for power. All thing up must come down. The law of gravity cannot be defied.

Underexposure woes

Seems that my new workhorse has a dark temper like its master. Under darkly lit environment, it has the tendency to underexpose by 2/3eV, much like Wendy. What appears to be perfectly exposed image on the LCD histogram turned up very unacceptible on my monitor. I was vomitting blood. Here goes the cycle benefit and begins from square one.

Have a heart.

All for a ball ball. In the next frame, the guy behind virtually kissed the ass in front... so dramatic and fun. Once in a blue moon.

Downstream

The laws of gravity. What goes up must come down. If it doesn't, it's only a matter of time.
P.S. Jeff found that apart from the horns that he had grown over a span of two years, he had developed a tail and it's red and pointy. Welcome the era of an angel cloaked in a devil suite. Or is it a devil in angel costumes?
