Tackle

Almost forgotten the beauty of available light. It simply sets my heart aflutter with ultra-bright lenses... a 400 F2.8VR would be nice. But considering the hefty price tag, the thought disappeared into thin air.
Addition of 1.7x to the family came as a shock. My long lens skills was incapable of mastering this monster addition w/o VR! I simply sucks. Need to work out more and improve stability further. Can imagine more cash dump into a ballhead. Must have been 3 years.

Missing the tinkle-bell here... where are all the sunbirds gone?

OMG

Strange calls and impostor address... identity theft... n a Pied Triller trying very hard to get close while I was having breakfast.
On recollection, tis been a while since I last go for a nature walk...

Papa bird

Apparently this feather did not like to be taken at all, even from a distance. Just gave me the cold shoulder. But probably one can understand cause it is tasked with rearing its chick that seemed to be forever hungry.

Incorrect AF settings ended with a day of almost zero work. Only a couple to save the day.

Subject

I wonder... who is the real subject here. A subject chained in a perpetual cycle called reincarnation.

Ponder

Probably a mirror.
There is a joy, that lives in the mirror.
There is a shadow that lurks in the light.
There is a heat that pulses in the cold.
There is a vision  that sees in the dark.
There is something from nothing.
All creation big and small w/o division.
All is nothingness.

Mary had a little lamb

This little lamb has an owner, and the owner has decided to tag it by cutting off a part of its ear as marking. Imagine only human will do this for decoration.!

Duel

Studying mammals has the advantage of the learning the gift of fore-sight sooner than feathered friends. Probably too fast that one turns too judge-mental. Again, need some form of self restraint else would be lost in a fairy land of its own.
Sometimes, I really wonder what's e eye in the head see. Everyday is a mystery and every work is a fine surprise.
Rule #1: U must enjoy and take pride in what u do
Rule #2: Have the right patience and make the right decision to stay or continue waiting
Rule #3: Always strike in the worst weather conditions

Stuck up

Oh dear, the caterpillar story again. Apparently something got into my clothing w/o me knowing while out in the field. Case of bad rash again. Or probably its that impious looking spidey!

Courtship II

All it took was a crackle of screams and the male will all take flight to look for food to feed her. Pampered? or Privilege? Poor gold fish. Out of the 200 images created from these 2 field trips, this came up top with the extremely rare perspective giving the image an overall 3d effect. No PS. Guess all the elements were just right. Some point in time, the male tried to mount her after days of feeding courtship. However, the process was a miss or perhaps it all ended too quickly!
At the end of the day, Jeff turned into a red-faced monkey from the afternoon tan. No amount of sun-screen can retard UV damage.

Courtship

The male will bring the female food as part of its courtship ritual. Seems a bit late into the season but then every goes!
Strangely, the nesting breeding season for this species has delayed by a month whilst the dollar bird nesting period has been brought forward by about a week. Wonder what's with mother nature??

Pleasant surprise

A mysterious call, much to my pleasant surprise from my grandpa's hometown. But the timing was not right, or so I thought. I passed but kept my options open couple years down the road.

Harrassment

They were actually complaining when I shot them. Interesting that even the mynahs are joining in the nesting fun. Gonna visit the little terns next. Sure wished for a sunless yet bright day.

Envy

Let's say man are born equal with no selectivity, that curiosity originates from ignorance. Yet one species is always more ignorant that the other or so I thought until today. Next time if u ever see a person in the field concentrating on making a photograph, especially with a long lens, all ye better steer clear. Old Jeffie doesn't have much patience with peek-a-boo, which makes me wonder just how ugly locals can be. Even the elderly and wise can do this yet some banana man cant. Watch ur heads! If u want respect then u gonna earn it.
With the ranting done, back to focus. Seems that the poles might not survive for another season. Most have hollowed and weakened from the aggressive nesting behaviors of these feathers. Coupled with sea water, these elements became the ultimate ingredients for accelerated corrosion and final degradation and decay. Really wished something can be done to preserve those poles so that these feathers can continue to breed come next year.

Rainbow

The feather killer struck and feathers stay in-line to have their portraits taken. Seeing is believing.

Me

Pretty face :). Its family has been living in the enclosure as star-attractions for many years now and appears to be adapting very well to its new environment. Perhaps many would disagree but the price of a few primates is worth the general education of the public, which sad to say is utterly ignorant of subjects outside their species. Of course the perfect solution would be no sacrifice at all.
>>Unexpected new toy to re-ignite the flames for feathers :D
