Art in Nature
Inclusion of environmental information to the original image can make wonders. A totally isolated milky stork is but a feather perched on a branch and nothing more. Expanding outward changes a singular behavioral observation into a part of nature. As a result, these feathers become not just the subjects but as adornments to their environment. The departing stork adds another dimension and action to the otherwise singular theme. Result is an enriched image with more meaning.
Guess Jeff will return stronger.

Wheel of fortune
Well, it seems that every relative has an expectation on how Jeff should perform and will perform. This is getting very scary. Nevertheless, the evolution pathway is quite clear and inevitable. I was asked by my sis to inform her on my next trip to India/Tibet. Apparently she was very keen, probably after mum spreaded the words on my last trip to china. And they were, strangely, impressed by the images I created. But for someone who has lived a pampered lifestyle like my sis, Jeff is quite unsure if it's a good Idea. There isnt many Hilton, Sheraton, Shangri, Four Seasons to go around in those places!

Orientation
Sometimes, we only need someone to show the light. Have you found your guardian angel? Jeff discovered his guardian angel is all around.
From Pans, nature wreathed a labyrinth. Story of a girl named Ofelia entranced in a world of her own. Though the movie was in spanish, the body language is more than sufficient to bring one into deep thoughts.
She sees what others cant. A fairy land invisible to the human eyes. Yet with a heart so pure it bleeds the war wrath in the civil war plagued period. Her cries for affection was very much muffled, yet in the fairy land, she finds warmth and hope. Blood she spills represents her compassion for the living. Her unwavering belief has returned her soul to the fairyland once more.

Spring
Tis time of the year when chinese around the globe celebrates New Year. This pair of guardian lions have a new coat to auger in a brand new and prosperous year for the Bank of China. So fresh and striking.
P.S. I must concede that the new zoom toy performed very well today, albeit on the heavy side, for street photography. However, unlike the 85mm prime, the zoom can flare nasty at 90 deg and it manifested as an orange spot! Well so much for the 24-70. At least it's not as nasty as the 35mm prime (I hope). Bye bye 35mm, bye bye 300mm.

Last light
This image was created with quite a bit of melancholy intended aimed at the local culture and her people. A dying breed. The temple was tucked in a corner, balanced by a flag in the opposite end of the frame.
P.S. 2007 has been a very happening year for Jeff since 1st Jan. The prospect of an entirely new career and the sale of his much beloved super-telephoto lens and the consolidation of his portfolio. Everything seems so exciting and fresh. Must make merry and create merry to douse the dark energy. Hail the emergence of a new dragon.

shadows
It always fascinates Jeff how shadows can be used to convey emotions. In Bali, he found some irresistible opportunities to indulge this fetish. The Uluwatu temple scene presented plenty of opportunities for photography. But the lame Jeff cannot take all, probably slowed down significantly by the varicella-zoster virus and the unforgettable incident of monkey snatch thief. Yes, a trained Marquee snatched my glasses and in return I had to pay the local a tiny fee to get it back. But the primates are not to be blamed. Food were scarce. The locals used food as rewards to retrieve stolen items. The primates are not stupid at all.
Well, Jeff was climbing the steps to the temple when he saw this elderly chap standing and apparently posing against the sun. How could Jeff refuse? Flare was pretty well controlled but some got through. Well any lens into the sun is designed for disaster. The 85mm prime performed very well.
And the primates that have earned themselves an unsavoury reputation.
P.S. A salient victory first pass with Tim. Feeling wonderful.

Imagery
Very very dark one indeed. I was in a forest named monkey forest. Yes they have plenty of primates living in that forest. No Jeff was feeling under at the time this image was made. It was created wide open though. In B&W, it's entirely different mood. If u stare really hard, u can make out a lady in this image. Can u find her? What was she doing?
